First Mover由英语学院孙有中院长创办于2004年，由新闻系英文采写课教师郑保国担任指导老师，是北京外国语大学英语学院新闻系各级学生独立采编﹑制作﹑策划﹑发行的新闻月刊。它是迄今为止全北外第一份也是唯一用新闻纸印刷的全英文报刊。

First Mover意为先行者，取自Thomas Aquinas在 Summa Theologica 中写的一句话：Whatever is in motion must be put in motion by another. There is a first mover.
